A new technique can be used to predict the actions of human or AI agents who behave suboptimally while working toward unknown goals.
Metrics & Measures
Metrics are measures of quantitative assessment commonly used for comparing and tracking performance or production. Metrics can be used in a variety of scenarios. Metrics tell us whether a process is good enough to meet the customer's requirements or whether it needs to be better. Metrics play an important role since they transform both the customer requirements as well as operational performance to numbers which can be compared.
Automation
Automation, or Labor-saving technology is the technology by which a process or procedure is performed with minimal human assistance
Intelligent automation refers to any IT automation tool that can improve its own processes and outcomes, optimize resources, and improve efficiency by analyzing data and augmenting human decision making. Automation can or cannot be based on Artificial Intelligence. Orbits ProjectDB™ is based on AI (AI-server). ProjectDB train the algorithm to increase automation.
Industrial AI
Unlike general artificial intelligence (AI) which is a frontier research discipline to build computerized systems that perform tasks requiring human intelligence, Industrial AI is more concerned with the application of such technologies to address industrial pain-points for customer value creation, automation, and business performance improvement.
Industry 4.0
Industry 4.0 we describe as the digital transformation of manufacturing / production and value creation processes. Industry 4.0 is used interchangeably with the fourth industrial revolution and represents a new stage in the organization and control of the industrial value chain. The core of digital transformation we say to be the merging of 4 technologies, - cloud computing, - big data, - IoT and AI.
Industry 4.0 and IIoT is the same thing. Industry 4.0 was born in Europe, when IIoT is an US initiative. The technology developed since 1960s, but the terminology first appears 2008TH.
Big data & Computation
Big data is a field that treats ways to analyze, systematically extract information from, or otherwise deal with data sets that are too large or complex to be dealt with by traditional data processing application software. Big data challenges include capturing data, data storage, data analysis, search, sharing, transfer, visualization, querying, updating, information privacy and data source. Graphical processing unit (GPU) proves fundamental to deep learning by performing computations much faster than computer processing units (CPUs).
Cloud Computing
Cloud Computing providers offer their "services" according to different models, of which the three standard models per NIST (SP 800-145) are Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS), and Software as a Service (SaaS).
Orbits offer ProjectDB as a Service (SaaS). Cloud Computing is more like a business model than technology, make Industrial AI to be competitive use cases.
Orbits AIMA (Asset Inspection & Maintenance Automation) is a concept for I&M optimizing by AI Models.
Robotics
Robotics involves design, construction, operation, and use of robots. Orbits goal of robotics is to design intelligent software, that integrates intelligent machines and assist humans in their day-to-day work. Make work more automated, sophisticated, and safe.
API
API (Application Programming Interface) is a computing interface which defines interactions between multiple software. An API can be entirely custom, specific to a component, or it can be designed based on an industry standard to ensure interoperability (Open API). REST (Representational State Transfer) API is a standard computing interface to address web resources.
IIoT
IIoT (Industrial Internet of Things) refers to interconnected sensors, instruments, and other devices networked together with computers' industrial applications, including manufacturing and energy management. This connectivity allows for data collection, exchange, and analysis, potentially facilitating improvements in productivity and efficiency as well as other economic benefits.
AI, ML & DL
Artificial Intelligence (AI)
Any technique that enables computers to mimic human intelligence, using logic, if-then rules, decision trees, and machine learning (including deep learning)
Machine Learning (ML)
A technique by which a computer can "learn" from data, without using a complex set of different rules. The category includes deep learning.
Deep Learning (DL)
The subset of machine learning composed of algorithms that permit software to train itself to perform tasks, like image recognition and image classification, by exposing multilayered neural networks to vast amount of data.
VR & AR
In virtual reality (VR), the user’s perception of reality is completely based on virtual information. In augmented reality, the user is provided with additional computer-generated information that enhances their perception of reality.
Augmented Reality (AR) is a technological innovation that incorporates virtual elements into real surroundings. Augmented reality in construction makes it possible to combine virtual architectural designs with the physical reality of a job site.
About us
Since early 80s, Orbit employees have learned and experienced different industries. Over the years a number of tasks, responsibilities and positions filled. Some of us learned about knowledge based expert systems, and how AI in the future was going to change the word. It took some years. The term AI winter appeared in 1984. The AI Industry had its first set back in the 70s. From its lowest point in early 1990s, AI today is around us every second of the day, and thousands of AI applications are deeply embedded in the infrastructure of every industry.
Beginning about 2012, interest in artificial intelligence (and especially the sub-field of machine learning and deep learning) from the research and corporate communities led to a dramatic increase in funding and investment.
In 2020, Orbits developed in the last year of an AI project with the Norwegian Computing Center.
